Fluid DEX, a decentralized exchange, has garnered attention due to reported losses of $19 million in the USDC-ETH pool, linked to the platform's rebalancing mechanism during Ethereum's market volatility. This incident raises transparency and accountability issues within the DeFi community.

Launched in October 2024, Fluid DEX initially attracted many LPs with promises of high returns. However, sharp ETH price drops caused impermanent losses, with the automated rebalancing mechanism primarily blamed.

Samyak Jain, Fluid's co-founder, explained that while the pool performs well under stable conditions, volatility triggers rebalancing, leading to realized losses for LPs that exceed fee income. Though some defend Fluid, critics accuse it of downplaying rebalancing risks.

Data from Dune Analytics indicates a declining Total Value Locked (TVL) in Fluid Vault, further intensifying criticism from DeFi news provider DefiMoon, which accuses Fluid of heavy promotion without warning LPs of potential losses.

Fluid proposes a compensation plan offering 500,000 FLUID tokens to support affected LPs, emphasizing the importance of understanding risks in DeFi endeavors.
